When the pandemic hit in Spring 2020 it not only cut off a huge revenue stream for artists in touring and live shows, it cancelled every major music industry conference and festival from SXSW to A3C to Coachella. With the artist community struggling in isolation and missing these ritual gatherings of learning and networking, we at UnitedMasters stepped up to the plate and built a virtual conference from scratch.
Over two days in July SelectCon brought together industry experts, artists, creatives and brands to share insights with the independent creative community, featuring the likes of Timbaland, Russ, Tobe Nwigwe, Royce Da 5'9, Director X, Bryan Michael Cox & Johnta Austin, Cam Kirk, Reel Goats, and brands such as Instagram, NBA, ESPN, Cash App and JPMorgan Chase & Co.
We built this conference from scratch in isolation ourselves, and ended up with 900,000 viewers on our livestream, 5.5 million social impressions and generated headlines in Variety, Billboard, Complex and more. You can check out the complete slate of programming here.
